How Bamboo Candles Are Made

Ever wondered how bamboo candles were actually created before they were made as the kind of candles you see in the market today? Well, these bamboo candles really have an interesting story.

Bamboo can be the perfect choice of material to use in creating candles because this plant actually continues to grow even if some of its parts are cut off. See, they have the ability to rejuvenate by itself so there is no need to worry about bamboo plants diminishing in number because they are used in bamboo candles. The bamboos used in BambooCandles.net’s range of candles are grown in the green forests of Thailand.

To create the bamboo pillars for these bamboo candles, measurements are first made so that the bamboo that would be used would be in the proper size, height, and diameter. After than, they are then cut. When that is done, the outer skin of the bamboo is removed. The inner part is sanded so that they would be smooth.

To be sure that the bamboo would not rot when used in bamboo candles, we put them in a kiln to dry. Treatments are also given to the bamboo so that they would be sturdy and last long. When that is done, the bamboo is also stained for a better look and is then sent back to the kiln to dry. Varnish is then applied and the bamboo is polished to look really exquisite.

When all of these are done, the bamboo pillars are now given 100% natural soy wax. There are some which are given 100% essential oils to create scented bamboo candles. The wick is also added and this is 100% free from lead.

And that is how bamboo candles are made.
